Lingli DENG

Lingli Deng currently serves as Phoenix Satellite TV Shanghai-based chief correspondent. She joined Phoenix Satellite TV in 2004 as a correspondent.

Lingli Deng has extensive experience covering finance, economic, political news and breaking news. She has also played an important and unique role in Phoenix Satellite TV’s coverage of Navy in recent years.

Most recently, aboard the flagship of PLA Navy Task Group for 69 days, Lingli Deng reported the whole process of RIMPAC 2016, the world’s largest international maritime exercise. She did exclusive interview with the U.S. Vice Adm. Nora Tyson, commander of the U.S. 3rd Fleet, who served as the combined task force commander and interviewed the commander of PLA Navy Task Group several times.

In recent years, she spent over 4 months on the sea every year, on the warship of PLA Navy, reporting the search for missing aircraft MH370 in South India sea, reporting RIMPAC 2014 around Hawaii, reporting the joint military exercises between China and Russia in the Sea of Japan and the first joint military exercise between China and Malaysia in Malacca Strait. She has sailed over 100,000 kilometers on the sea and did several exclusive interviews with the Commander of PLA Navy and the commanders of different Navy Task Groups.

Lingli Deng has reported a lot of breaking news, including the terrorist attack in Kunming, the H5N1 highly Pathogenic Bird Flu in Anhui province, the 11·15 especially serious fire in Shanghai and the stampede in the Bund. She has also interviewed tens of global political and business leaders.

Lingli Deng graduated with a Master Degree of Journalism and a Bachelor Degree of Philosophy from Nanjing Institute of Politics.
