Hui ZHANG

Hui Zhang currently serves as Phoenix TV Shenzhen-based senior correspondent. She joined Phoenix TV in 2009 as a correspondent.

Hui Zhang has extensive experience in social news. She is skilled in producing in-depth news documentary and feature news series. In 2014, She exposed the behind stories of the Bo She village in Guang Dong province, which was the biggest family based drug  producing area in China. During the filming, Hui ZHANG went inside to the drugproducer’s family with no fears of danger. She has produced many other feature news documantris which are foucusing on construction waste problem, Chinese expeditionary army, voilence after medical tangle etc. Zhang Hui is always willing to make contributions for society on reporting social problems related to everyday life.

Hui Zhang has also covered international current affairs, such as the missing Malaysian airline MH370, illegal passport problem in Bangkok and Vietnam air force’s searching for the flight in Ho Chi Minh. The same year, 72 Chinse fishermen were shipwreck off the Xisha coast, she made an exclusive interview to the relief commander of South China Sea Fleet. Zhang Hui produced an in-depth news series on reporting this issue afterwards, which showed the stories behind.

Hui Zhang joined reporting for breaking news of disasters as well, when Typhoon “Rammasun” seriously hit Hai Nan province in 2014, China Ya’an hit by magnitude 7.0 Earthquake in 2013 ect. Zhang Hui exclusively interviewed the PLA airforce during the rescue mission.

Hong Kong issue is another main field of Zhang Hui’s coverage. She produced several news series about HongKong’s constitutional affairs and public living, such as feature stories reflecting parallel traders’ causing social problem in border of Hong Kong and China mainland, series-reports on the comparation of retail business in Hong Kong and border city Shen Zhen. She has also covered political news related to Hong Kong such as 2017 election governmental discussions.

She graduated with a B.A. from Sun Yat-Sen University and with a Master from Communication university of China.
