Yuming LUO

Yuming Luo currently serves as Phoenix TV chief correspondent of Shenzhen-based news department. She joined Phoenix TV since 2008.

Yuming is experienced in covering breaking news, social news, investigative reports. She also covers current political and economic affairs.

Yuming joined the report mission for covering Wen Chuan magnitude 8 earthquake in 2008, Yu Shu magnitude 7.1 earthquake in 2010, Zhou Qu mud slide disaster in 2011, “311” Japan earthquake and nuclear crisis in 2011,Yunnan Lu Dian magnitude 6.5 earthquake in 2014, PX factory explosion in 2015, “Star of the East” ship sinking disaster in 2015,and many other issues such as fire, flood, mine disaster, typhoon, plane crush, etc.

Yuming has covered international economic or high-tech forums, such as Boao Forum 2013-2016, China-Asean Expo 2009-2012,Asean Summit in 2012, and annual China Hi-Tech Fair  since 2008. She joined NPC and CPPCC meeting report for 8 times since 2009 and many other government relevant events in Guang Dong province. She also covered political affairs such as trail for Bo Xi Lai, and Hong Kong 2017 election relevant issues ect..

Yuming has done exclusive interviews with Chinese prime minister Wen Jia Bao during earthquake report in 2011, Li Ke Qiang during China- Asean Expo when he served as vice-prime minister in 2011, ex-President of the European Commission Jose Manuel Barroso, Nobel Laureate Steven Chu during economic forum in 2016, and many other top financial experts and industry leaders.

Yuming has produced many in-depth and investigative feature news stories which broadcast on Phoenix InfoNews Channel. “Persistence in Disaster” in 2011,covered Japanese people’s live when facing nuclear crisis after “311” Japan Earthquake.  “The migrant workers” broadcast in 2012 was produce in the background of Singapore prosecute Chinese bus drivers for striking. “Triumph in the sky” broadcast in 2014 is a feature news story for an international airshow. “Education of Aids & Love” in 2015 reflected the social problems caused   by aids infection and self-rescue of homosexual community.

“The Secret Truth of Hogwash oil-Unraveling the Chain of Deception” broadcast in 2012, had  received Silver Hugo award 2012 of U.S, and Gold World Medal of Best Investigative Report, Silver World Medal of Social Issues in 2013 International TV & Film of New York Festivals. It had been nominated in Asia Film and TV Festival in 2012 as well.

Yuming graduated with a B.A from Shenzhen University in China, and with a M.A from University of Westminster in the U.K.
